Sunset Club
Our new After School Club will be launched in April 2026, after the Easter Holidays.
The purpose of our school-led after-school care provision is to provide a safe, inspiring and nurturing environment for our pupils to engage in activities to support their development and well-being, whilst being cared for in a familiar environment.
The provision of after-school care is essential for parents who work during the day and need their children to be cared for until they return home. A school-led provision enables a stress-free option for our parents to extend the available care for their children, knowing the values and ethos of the school will continue to be upheld.
Our Sunset club offers our pupils the opportunity to engage in activities to complement their academic learning, such as homework support or reading, in addition to developing life skills, such as problem-solving and communication, and enrichment skills, such as art and sport.
It is open to all pupils of Cookham Rise Primary School and children will have the opportunity to mix with others from across the school through our free play session, incorporating our values from our OPAL project.
Sunset Club will run from Monday to Friday during our term times. There will be no childcare provision during school holidays or on inset days.
The full session will run from 3:15 until 6:00pm, although children can be collected earlier if parents wish. Additionally, if children attend one of the after-school activities held at school, they can join the Sunset Club afterwards.
The cost of each full session is £18.00 and includes an after-school snack and cold tea. A short session until 4:30pm costs £10 per child or for those joining us after an activity, the cost is £13.50.
Regular sessions can be booked via school ahead of each term. Booking forms will be sent to all parents to be completed and invoices will be sent to confirm booked sessions, detailing costs and payment deadlines. Payment can be made by BACs, via the tax-free childcare scheme, or by using childcare vouchers.
Ad hoc sessions can be booked by emailing extendedday@cookhamrise.org and paid via your child's Scopay account.
