We are always keen to keep improving how we do things and try to streamline processes where we can. There are some small changes with regards to trips and to how we are organising our parent consultations in a few weeks times. Please see pages 6 and 7 for more information.

In addition, as part of our cycle of our regular updating of policies, we have added to our Anti-bullying policy. In order to involve the children in this we will be having Pupil Parliament meetings next Monday so that it can be discussed and amended as appropriate. Once policies have been ratified by Governors those that are applicable are then uploaded to the school website.

I hope that you all had a lovely half term break.

My thanks to the children and staff in Year 4 for their contribution to the Dance Festival which took place on the Wednesday before half term. More details can be seen on page 6.

I’d also like to thank you all for the contributions you have made to recent fundraising. To Alfie and members of the PTA for a fantastic amount raised by the Quiz Night and to everyone who supported their children in getting sponsored in aid of the NSPCC. (see page 4 for further details.)

We are really proud of all the things that our children do in addition to the usual curriculum. Lots of ‘extras’ happen in school but, we’re very aware that a lot happens out of school as well. Please do let the office know if you would like anything included in the newsletter. I was helping at out Scouts last week and it was great to see so many Cookham Rise children (current and ex) earning badges for a wide range of things!

The NSPCC fund raiser has been really successful and whilst I don’t have a final figure yet as money is still coming in it is set to be over £1500. Thank you very much for supporting this.

I wish you all a lovely half term break and look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 19th February.
