Welcome to Ash 2!

The Year 2 team is looking forward to guiding your children in their journey throughout their last year of KS1. As a school, we are consistent in implementing our main rules of being ready, respectful and safe. Also embedding our school values of kindness, curiosity and personal best into the curriculum.

The main class teacher is Mrs Collibee and Mrs Pocock will be supporting as the teaching assistant. Mrs Maher will teach the children on a Friday morning as PPA cover, and Mr Brown will be teaching PE on a Monday morning. We aim to build your child's confidence and independence during their time in year 2 and prepare them for KS2.

Below is an overview of what to expect during the Autumn term:

The regular daily routine in year 2 includes following a visual timetable designed to achieve all of the core and foundation subjects. The timetable also includes time for 'brain breaks' which includes morning/ lunch break and the Daily Mile, where children run around our track for a physical and mental break. In Year 2 there is no official homework set, however, we do ask for children to read daily at home. 

We use Seesaw as a platform to communicate with parents and will upload photos for parents to see what we have got up to in class and to celebrate the children's achievements. We will also send home weekly letters to parents and carers on Seesaw, which include information of what we have done that week in school, as well as any additional information.
