Good morning Oak 3!
I am so proud of you all working from home and have really enjoyed talking to you and finding out what you have been up doing. I hope the Easter bunny manages to visit you all.
- Unit 10 - page 40 - Speed spell any words that were spelt in correct yesterday then pick 1 word from each unit to do a quick speed spell.
- Maths CGP book - Complete pages 20 and 21. If you would like more try the Maths problem of the day, which can be found in additional resources or the White Rose Maths Home Learning page.
- 10 minutes times table practise.
- Listening task - Listen to our last chapter of Fly Away Home. You could then write a book review or rent the film and try a film review.
- Reading and writing - Purple Mash - chapter 6 followed by a quiz and two writing tasks.
- French - Listen to the story Toutes les couleurs, which can be found in additional resources. Try and get the children to repeat the colours.
- Don't forget to measure your tomato plant.

Thursday 2nd April.
Good morning Oak 3! Hope you are all ready for the day and the work that has been set. A few of you were asking me about written subtraction methods yesterday, as this is where we would have been going next in class. The video below shows how written subtraction is taught in key stage 2. This is not essential as we will go over it when we return to school.
- Unit 10 - page 40 - Speed spell using the following words; accident, century, experiment, interest, particular and ordinary.
- Maths CGP book - Complete pages 18 , 19 and the active learn task. If you would like more try the Maths problem of the day, which can be found in additional resources or the White Rose Maths Home Learning page.
- 10 minutes times table practise.
- Writing task - Listen to the next chapter of fly away home. Write an incident report on the crash as if you were an eyewitness. A template can be found in additional resources.

Wednesday 1st April.
Good morning Oak 3! Hope you are all ready for the day and the work that has been set. I know a number of you are getting kicked off the times table rockstars website after logging in and I have logged this with out IT technical support. In the meantime try Numbots. Use your TT Rock Stars username and password to log into Numbots and practise addition, subtraction and number bonds.
Try starting the day by joining in with a Joe Wicks work out.
Today, please can you make sure:
- Spelling - Unit 10 - Team teach page 40, Oak 3 are the teachers, parents and siblings the pupils. If this is not possible then do a quick speed spell of the unit 10 spelling words.
- Maths CGP book - Complete page 16 and 17. If you would like more try the Maths problem of the day, which can be found in additional resources.
- Comprehension CGP - Bill's New Frock, Umbrella Hats or The Enchanted Wood.

Lifeskills - Healthy Me - Understand how complex our bodies are and how important it is to take care of it respect it. Use the powerpoint to guide you through. The end task is to make a poster on top tips on how to stay safe and healthy.

Good morning Year 3. How about starting the day off joining in PE with Joe Wicks.

The above link is for the White Rose Maths Home Learning page. They will be adding five lessons each week for the next few weeks. Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete their set activity successfully. It asks you to pause the video at certain places and answer questions before moving on to the next part of the video. This is not compulsory and it may not follow exactly what our focus for the week is, it is purely a suggestion if you are looking for extra ideas in Maths.
Today, please can you make sure:
- Unit 10 - page 40 - Choose the right word
- Maths CGP book - Complete pages 14 and 15. If you would like more try the Maths problem of the day, which can be found in additional resources or the White Rose Maths Home Learning page.
- 10 minutes times table practise.
- Writing task - Writing a persuasive letter. Write a letter to the housing developer to persuade them not to build on the marsh. Think about all those birds migrating. Why do they migrate ? Why is the marsh good for them to migrate to? Where would they go if they marsh was built on? Use the powerpoint in additional resources to help you further.
- Science - Fantastic Flowers. See additional resources. Please do not feel like you have to print these out. You can always dictate answers or write on a blank sheet of paper.
