Assemblies take place in different ways within the school. Some as a class within the classroom and others with the whole school in the hall. The week starts with a whole school assembly led by the Headteacher which tends to be based on a particular value e.g. friendship and finishes with a whole school celebration assembly on a Friday. The Deputy Headteacher leads a whole school assembly on a Wednesday which often focuses on festivals being celebrated across the world. A few times each term we are joined in our Friday assembly by our local 'Open the Book' group who act out a bible story for the children.
We use the PSHE scheme 'Jigsaw' to support this area of the curriculum and use the assemblies from this to introduce each of the six themes across the school year.
