Elm Class enjoyed a fabulous visit to Pizza Dreams in Cookham where we all became Pizza Chefs for an hour. The pizzas we made looked and smelt truly delicious.

Our Achievements
This term we have been thinking about growing and changing. This week we are considering how humans change as they grow up. We have taken real pride in ourselves and thought about how we have changed since starting school in September.

Our chicks have now left their incubator and have moved into their brooder box. They have also been able to venture out to explore a little bit of Elm classroom.
A Chick Update
Wednesday 3rd May: Our chicks have started to hatch!
4 little chicks have now hatched and 2 more are on their way. It is very exciting in Elm Class.

Our Term 5 Topic - Living and Growing
Elm Class will be learning all about plants, frogs, butterflies and pets during Term 5. Lots of fun learning activities are planned.
Whilst learning about dinosaur teeth, we compared them to our own teeth. Elm class enjoyed a visit from Tam and discovered how we can look after our own teeth.

Elm class have been revisiting 2D shape names. Look at the brilliant shape dinosaurs some of the children have created. Can you spot the different shapes the children used?
Dinosaur Fossils
The children loved creating their very own salt dough dinosaur fossils. They are now on display in our very own dinosaur museum!

Pancake Day
We had a fabulous day in Elm Class this Shrove Tuesday. We weighed, measured and made our very own pancakes. We then got to eat them with lemon juice and sugar. Yum yum!
In the role play, creative area and mud kitchen, lots of us used our brilliant imaginations to create our own pancakes.
After lunch we had our very own pancake races using real pancakes. It was great fun flipping our pancakes in the air...only a few landed on the ground!
Learning To Descend Safely
We are now able to use the fireman pole on our climbing frame. We are fabulous!
Snow
We were so excited to see a little bit of snow. If only there had been a bit more!
Chinese New Year
Elm Class loved finding out about Chinese New Year celebrations. We had great fun creating our own Chinese Dragon dance.
Voyage in Space
The children are loving exploring our new topic Voyage in Space. There are lots of lovely learning experiences happening in Elm Class.
Happy Christmas
Elm Class loved their final Christmas celebrations at school. Wearing Christmas jumpers, they were delighted to welcome a surprise visit from Father Christmas.

St Luke's Christmas Festival
Look at our beautifully decorated tree that is part of the display at St Luke's Church. We are very proud of it.
The Bossy King
Elm Class loved performing 'The Bossy King' to Key Stage One and Two. The audience thought it was fabulous too. Well done Elm Class - you are superstars!
Toy Picnic
We have thoroughly enjoyed having our toys in school with us so today made them a rather lovely picnic to share. First we had to make the jam sandwiches ourselves. They were really delicious. Our toys thought so too!
Toys
Our new topic in Elm Class is 'Toys'. We loved opening our topic by showing our toys our classroom! There will be lots more fun for our toys as the week goes on.
Our Travel Agents
We are loving playing and exploring in 'Elm Travels' and becoming experts in booking holidays. Dreaming of a warm getaway at the moment!
Beebots
Elm Class have thoroughly enjoyed developing their knowledge of Programmable Toys using our school Beebots.
Our Learning Superheroes
Our learning superheroes teach us the different skills to become effective learners. The adults in Elm class are supporting the children to identify and develop these skills.
Autumn Term 2
This term is a very exciting term in Elm class. We are beginning our learning based on travelling and will then be moving on to think about toys. Our term will finish by incorporating the joy of Christmas in many different and fun learning experiences.
We will also be very busy preparing for our Christmas performance 'The Bossy King'.
Spooky Fun in Elm
What a fabulous half term we have had in Elm Class. The children have settled brilliant and really enjoyed getting to know each other. We have explored a variety of nursery rhymes and fairy tales.
