Learning the beginnings of British Sign Language (or BSL)
Sign Language is a way of communicating using gestures, facial expression, and body language. Sign Language is used mainly by people who are deaf or have hearing difficulties.
Over the next few weeks, we will get you to learn the basics of BSL - it is a really valuable and useful skill to acquire! Here are two links to help you learn how to sign the letters of the alphabet (you may prefer one or the other). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bovEowbc3eA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1427ROTKp5s Show what you have learnt to a family member. With any new skill, the more you practise the easier and faster you become at it.
Practise for a couple of days and then upload a video to SeeSaw of you spelling your name using BSL. If you have a shorter name, challenge yourself to spell your first and last name. |
