Homework is issued every Thursday.  The homework pack include one piece of mathematics (usually undertaken via the MyMaths website), another piece of English/topic work and spellings.  The spellings are tested the following Monday and the rest of the work is due by the close of school each Tuesday.  If children have difficulties completing work at home - for whatever reason - the Homework Club runs every Tuesday lunchtime.  Additionally, children are expected to read with an adult every day - ideally for at least 15 minutes - and to follow this up with some discussion: reading should be evidenced by the adult signing the child's Reading Record Book. This may be a physical book or ebook.  Listening to an audiobook is an optional extra in addition to the reading requirement.

To ensure children develop their own independency and thinking skills, we do ask that the work is undertaken by the child her/himself with minimum guidance from adults at home.  If a child particularly struggles, please tell us by sending a note in via the Homework Folder or message us via the contact form, available here: https://www.cookhamriseprimary.org/beech-5-teaching-team/
