I have been a Governor at Cookham Rise for 24 years (Parent Governor 10 years, Chair 14 years). I am married and have a daughter, Emma, who is now 29, and two dogs who need lots of exercise. My daughter really enjoyed her time at Cookham Rise and I hope that her positive experience is repeated by many. I have now retired as a teacher in the Primary sector and I have taught all age groups from Year 1 to Year 6 for 20 years in schools across Berkshire which has given me plenty of experience from a teacher’s point of view. My retirement enables me to spend more time in Cookham Rise and I really enjoy helping one afternoon a week in Year 1. I am very proud to be a Governor at this school and celebrate it’s achievements. It is a strong community with hard working staff and pupils and it is a pleasure to be Chair of Governors.
