The children all met in their Pupil Parliament groups last week to talk about transition and make suggestions for improving it. It was lovely to hear what they had to say and we will follow up on their suggestions at our Leadership Team meeting this week.

Mrs Sprules (our Chair of Governors) Mrs Rogers and I were fortunate enough to be able to pop to Danesfield School on Friday to hear Year 3 perform the three songs they had learned that morning as part of a Sing, Perform, Inspire workshop. They were fantastic and we were very proud of them—well done to all of Year 3 and thank you to the staff involved.  Read more.............

It has been a lovely warm start back to the new term! Please do make sure that the children have sun-cream on if needed as well as a sun hat and water bottle (although this may need to be scarf and gloves if some of the weather forecasts are accurate!)

Already there have been a range of activities going on in school and the children have taken part in drama workshops, a coding workshop on Friday and have attended sporting activities. I am looking forward to going across to Danesfield to be inspired by our Year 3 children and their singing. We are also looking forward to Year 3 and 4 performing
the Tempest for us before half term. Not an easy play but one they seem to be really enjoying and are getting to grips with.

Welcome back to the summer term— I hope you had a lovely Easter break.

I spent much of the last week of last term in Pupil Progress Meetings looking at how well the children are doing and any barriers to learning. It was lovely to see the progress being made and for teachers to share that with you at the consultation meetings.

Our new format for parent consultations seemed to work really well with lots of positive comments from staff and parents alike. From my and Mrs O’Mahony’s point of view there was a lovely ‘family feel’ in the hall and I think everyone appreciated us keep-ing to our timings! Many thanks for your feedback and support with this.

As always, there is a busy term ahead. The calendar will be updated regularly so please look for any changes and please do read the weekly class letters so you are informed about what is going on in school.

Our eggs are due to arrive in Elm class and we all look forward to watching the chicks hatch and grow over the next fortnight!
