A busy week for everyone last week but especially Year 6! Thank you to all of the children for the positivity and resilience they showed during their SATs . I know that they have had a fantastic PGL and there are many lovely pictures of the fun they have had on the class page of the website: http://www.cookhamriseprimary.org/willow-6-4/ Mrs O’Mahony and I visited Year 5 at Longridge on Friday morning and it was great to hear what fun they too were having and how well they had all slept! My sincere thanks once again to everyone involved! Read more........

Our Year 6 children will sit their SATs tests from today through until Thursday this week. We know that this is an important time and we wish our children all the very best but also recognise that whilst these are an important measure with regards to maths, reading and writing they do not measure all of the many and varied qualities that our Year 6 children have to offer. I am constantly in awe of how articulate and sociable our pupils are and the wide range of activities they undertake both in and out of school.

Good luck this week Year 6—Just try your hardest and I shall look forward to joining you for breakfast!

Special thanks at this time of year to the staff in Year 6—Mrs Bennett, Mrs Bown, Mrs Allcock and Mrs Deeley. They have done all they can to give the children an exciting and varied curriculum across the year and will be right behind them this week.

Years 5 and 6 are both off on residentials at the end of the week. I hope they all have a fantastic time. I really appreciate the staff organising trips such as these and am very grateful to them for giving up their own time to be there. Thank you.

You may have heard the lovely new that Mrs Conroy is expecting her second child and will be starting her maternity leave after the summer holiday. On a sad note Mrs Burkitt will be leaving us at the end of term as she now has the opportunity to take up an offer of a full time role as her youngest child is starting school. We will be very sorry to see her go but recognise the fantastic opportunity her new role presents. I have plans in place for the next academic year but as the teacher resignation deadline isn’t until 31st May it is prudent not to share these plans yet. Read more.....
