I do appreciate that it isn’t easy and that many families have a number of people logging on to meetings etc. This week will be a learning curve for us all but I do want to say a huge thank you to the whole school community.

    We are sorry not to have been able to have you into school for the usual Christmas celebrations, however, I am really delighted that staff have done as much as they can in school and recorded a Reception Nativity, KS1 show and KS2 Christmas concert.

    We have started doing our whole school ‘Over and Above’ assembly on Zoom on a Friday afternoon (thank you to Mrs Bond for getting this working across the school!) It was lovely to see the whole school together on Friday albeit in boxes on my screen!

    I was exceptionally proud of our Year 5 and 6 children on Friday. We were not able to welcome Theresa May into school but she did take part in a Zoom meeting with the children. Year 6 made a fantastic film presenting their concerns over such issues as equality and the environment and then both classes presented some excellent questions to ask her. These included some difficult questions about how the Government are dealing with COVID as well as slightly more personal ones such as ‘How well do you get on with Boris Johnson?’ It was a really interesting and engaging discussion!

    Thank you all for your support as the country enters this period of lockdown. As you know we are very positive about schools remaining open and about continuing in as a normal a way as possible. I am very pleased that our recent pupil progress meetings have shown that this is happening as well as the lovely feedback from you during the parent consultation meetings.
